I can agree with #1

Maybe Day 0 will just be discussion with no lynch? So there's at least some play for the person that dies Night 0.

I don't agree with #2. Flipless is best for this format, as Swords said.
If we get a bigger crowd playing I will think about adding neutrals. This was just the beginning and I wanted it to be simple for everyone to learn.

I didn't have time to do another game tonight or I would've.

If we have a bigger player list I'll do 1 because it'll last a lot longer.
If it's 9 or so players I'll definitely do 2 if everyone wands to stay for 2.

True, flips make Parity Cop essentially a Vanilla Sheriff. But thats only when it is only Town and Mafia in play.

However, if neutrals are added (even if only 1 neutral), then parity cop is no longer a Vanilla Sheriff except for in cases where someone is lynched and flips "Town" and they have a "same" result with that player.

So say we have another 9 player game, and this is the role list:
Mafia x2
Citizen x4
Parity Cop
Nerfed Doctor
Executioner (given a random target, target can be anyone including mafia. Executioner is not night immune)

Parity Cop checks a town on night 1, the executioner on night 2 and a mafia on night 3.
The Executioner is lynched. They flip "Not Town".
This does not mean that 1 and 3 are guaranteed to be town. As shown above, one (or both) can be Mafia because Mafia and Executioner have different alignments.
The same logic would apply if the neutral in play was a Witch, a Survivor, a Bomber, etc. The only possible flips as "Town" and "Not Town"

Given that the game ended on day 5, the parity cop wont have much to compare their results with. The only really concrete thing will be if they get a "Same" result and one of the sames flips "Town". But a "different" result to a town would mean that they are either Mafia or Neutral, and neutrals are not required lynches to win.

Another way to counteract Parity Cop from becoming Vanilla Sheriff with flips would be to have one Mafia be the Godfather, who would appear as Town to the Parity Cop (meaning they would get a "same" result with town and a "different" result to the other mafia).
Godfather would flip "Not Town" when lynched.

Also flips would only apply to lynches, not to night kills.

As far as the next game goes, I would be available in a similar time (maybe a bit earlier so we could get in two games or a larger game) in say two weeks or so?

It didnt seem that hard to set up, it just had to be that everyone was available. And it seemed that about a dozen people were watching the stream.

So maybe this could be a biweekly or monthly thing? (or even weekly but that might be a bit much)

Every two weeks would be fun. Not sure how many players we could gather.

The reason it was so far out this time was because of the holidays and such.


I'll look into it tomorrow and make a similar poll I did with the other game

Game Moderator Message: I'm going to be running Video Style Mafia 2 on February 6th - probably earlier in the day than the one Obi ran - if anyone has feedback on the first one please leave it below.

I'm definitely going to be switching from Zoom to another program - I'm looking at using WebRTC which is installed by default on Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Android, and iOS (sorry Safari, IE, and whatever they call the new IE users). There was a 40-minute call limit which ran into the end of the day on a couple occasions.

Signups will go up this Saturday at 8:00 AM Eastern Time (it's currently 4:11 PM for reference, so you can calculate it back from there).

Just letting you guys know that I've given iggy my opinion on his changes. But, it's up to him with what he wants to do.

I do not think roles need to be flipped upon death. I think that is way too powerful for town.
Jailor seems too complicated to add into the second game.

If we are adding new roles, I think just basic opposites should be added. Escort/Consort might be alright.
We won't know until we test out, and we should be doing it slowly.

I also believe (LoF suggested this) that there should be a 10 minute Day 1 before Night 1. This is so the person being killed on Night 1 actually gets to play for a split second.
So it would be something like this
Introduction: Iggy introduces mechanics/people ask questions
Day 1 begins - 10 minutes
Night 1 begins - 10 minutes
Day 2 begins - 20 minutes

Would there be a D1 lynch?

As far as adding roles, I think Escort/Consort could work. Parity Cop can also be replaced with Sheriff if Godfather or Framer is to be introduced.

I also wouldn't mind the addition of an Executioner type role. I dont think I will be available for VFM2 but maybe future games.

I think the game is pretty spicy already imo. Faces for days.

Parity Cop is better than Sheriff in this format.

Nerfed Doc/Medic is interesting

Escort/Consort is okay, but their really isn't as big of a power struggle in these games and mafia would have to set who kill. Especially when PRs are usually nerfed anyway, consort isn't as needed.

I think of we are adding any roles from FM, those are fine.

But, I took out some roles that they normally use for VSM, so those could be used as well. Like Oracle, Gunsmith etc.
Parity cop was used for balance. There is an actual Cop (Sheriff) in the roles.

So depending on how many people are in the game, I would consider swapping Parity cop with Cop

No Day 1 lynch in my opinion. Just talking.

I think that perhaps for future games, a non night immune Executioner could be very interesting. Certainly not for the first few games but maybe around game 5 or 6 putting in the possibility of an executioner could be rather interesting

I've still yet to receive the Video from Mroz on the first game. But, my recording did not cut off today, so i recorded todays mini games.

Note that the recording spazzes out quite a bit, but it doesn't really matter as faces weren't shown fully.
