A Change of Pace

Rules and Important Information

All standard Forum and Forum Mafia rules apply. If you have not done so already, please familiarise yourself with these rules and the rules below before signing up.
Respect - I will not tolerate flaming or any homophobic, racist, sexist, or any otherwise discriminatory behavior. Insults are tolerated to an extent, use common sense.
Gamethrowing - Any attempt to play against your win condition is forbidden, including jesting. All actions should be made with your faction’s best interests in mind.
Prohibited Activities - Under no circumstances should you engage in the following activities:
1. Spam - This includes excessively making posts with no content or images.
2. Codes - No codes can be used to transmit secret information, however signals can be used. Ask a mod if you are unsure if what you’re using is a code or signal.
3. Angleshooting - Do not used outside-game information to enforce an in-game argument. An example of this is making an in-game argument around a player requesting replacement.
4. Outside Communication - All communication should be made in the game-thread, or through another mod-approved medium (such as a mafia chat)
5. Referencing Mod communications - Do not directly quote/screenshot a moderator message or reference a conversation with a moderator.
Inactivity - If you do not make any posts for 18 hours I will prod you for inactivity. You will have 12 hours to respond to the prod to avoid replacement. Two prods = automatic replacement.
Messages - You may not misleadingly modify a mod or other player’s message or post (paraphrasing is of course fine).
Voting - Please bold your votes and type them as "/vote [x]". If you wish to unvote, do "/vote unvote".
Fun - Sure I guess.

Roll with the Changes

This game will be testing a new Episode rolelist (v1 of it, that is) along with some changes to roles in the rolelist. The rolelist can be found below, along with the rolecards for the modified roles with the changes in bold. Roles that have not been modified will be the same as the ones listed here.

Lookout

You are a Lookout.

Your alignment is Town Investigative.

You are a sharp eyed-individual that can recognize people from afar.
In the past people would pay you to watch over them to make sure that nobody would enter or leave their residence unnoticed.
However, since the Mafia invasion, you have decided to use your skills to help eliminate the Mafia.

You may watch one person each night.
You will see who visits that person each night, should someone visit.
You may not watch yourself and you will not know the roles of the visitors, only that they visited.
If your target is visited by someone using a killing ability, you will not pick up on it.

You win with the Town
You must kill the Mafia
You must kill Witches

Doctor
You are a Doctor.

Your alignment is Town Protective.

You are this town's doctor, and have kept everybody healthy for years.

You have the ability to visit one person each night. If they are attacked that night, you arrive just in time to save their life.
If your target is attacked, only your target will receive a message saying your target was attacked but healed. You will not be informed
You also have 1 self-heal, allowing you to instead save yourself if you are attacked.
You can only use the self-heal once, regardless of if you are attacked or not that night, so use it wisely.

Marshal

You are a Marshal.

Your alignment is Town Protective.

Once a figurehead of the law, you experienced a horrific accident and have vowed not to kill anymore. Instead you decide to use your presence as a deterrent to these thugs that have rooted themselves in your hometown.

Each night you may choose to follow a player. Your presence scares one malicious person from targeting them.
You will only be informed if you scare away a role who had killing intentions.
Should your target be visited by multiple people with malicious intent, only one will flee. (Mafia Deception > Witch/Escort/Consort > Killing Roles)
Roles that use charges will still consume them upon being frightened off.
When you scare off a player, that player will no longer count towards the one person limit on future visits.
You have one bulletproof vest as well, which will save you from all attacks at night. You may use this on yourself rather than protecting someone, but only once.

Vigilante

You are a Vigilante.

Your alignment is Town Killing.

You believe that the law of this town is useless against the evil-doers in your town and have decided to take matters into your own hands.

Each night you may decide to shoot and kill one town member you believe to be evil.
You only have 2 bullets, allowing you to perform your night action up to 2 times. Make them count.
You will not be in grief if your target turns out to be Town.
You may not shoot on the first night.

Medium

You are a Medium.

Your alignment is Town Support.

You are a powerful psychic who can communicate with the dead.
The dead cannot comprehend our speech, and we cannot comprehend theirs. That is where you come in - you are the translator in the middle!

At night select a dead Town player, you will open a seance with them and receive their night results and actions for every night they were alive.
This action can be roleblocked.
You cannot target dead Mafia or Neutrals.

Blackmailer

You are a Blackmailer

Your alignment is Mafia Tactical

Everyone who knows you doesn't want anything to do with you, but typically it's too late by then. Heck, even among the Mafia you are given the cold shoulder. With a smile almost creepily plastered on your face all the time, you have an unhealthy obsession with your job more so than any other member, and that's just what the Godfather wanted. You are the Blackmailer.

Each night you may visit a single player's house, you are informed of what roles also visit them.
You will also repeat all actions that happened to them last night again.
If you repeat an investigative action, instead you will get the results.
Each day you can send three anonymous messages to any player. The player may send a message back if they wish.
Anonymous messages are limited to 200 characters.

Prankster

You are a Prankster

Your alignment is Mafia Deception.

You are the Prankster, who once filled his days pranking others with elaborate jokes. One time, you managed to make somebody believe that his entire family was murdered. Geez, the look on his face when you told him he was pranked!

Every night you can choose to target 1 player.
Your target's real night results will be replaced with a false night result of your choosing.
The effect you choose will not actually be done; For example, an investigator pranked into thinking he was roleblocked will still receive night results with clues as to which role his target was. However, he will not know for sure if he slept peacefully.
Other pranks cannot be overwritten and if a player is pranked twice by two pranksters, they will get two messages.
If you are controlled by a witch, you will make your target think they "slept peacefully."
You have no limit to how many pranks you can perform.
